5.0 out of 5 stars What a gripping, finely crafted mystery with a large dose of tenderness.
Reviewed in the United States on April 6, 2020 Format: Paperback Alison Solomon has done it again. How she comes up with all the twists and turns that find resolution at the end is beyond me. She keeps me guessing, turning the pages and learning...learning in this novel about police procedures, EMDR and borderline personality disorder. I'm awaiting, impatiently, the next in the series. 5.0 out of 5 stars This is a real page-turner Reviewed in the United States on April 1, 2020 Format: Paperback For me to finish a book, it's got to keep my attention and make me want to turn the pages. Reviewed in the United States on April 1, 2020 Format: Paperback Although mysteries are not usually my preferred genre, I thoroughly enjoyed this one. Being a resident of Gulfport, I truly appreciated the detailed descriptions of the eclectic little town. The characters were believable and mutli-dimensional, fitting in well with the setting. The story is told from the point of view of the three main characters, and their personalities and problems, including Borderline Personality Disorder, and crises of faith and relationships add flavor and depth to the plot, which unfolds with plenty of unexpected twists. 5.0 out of 5 stars Original with great characterizations Reviewed in the United States on March 31, 2020 Format: Paperback I had read the first in the series, Timing is Everything, and loved the descriptions of Gulfport but thought the book lacked a certain depth in the characters. With this book, however, as well as capturing the allure and small-town vibe of my adopted hometown of Gulfport, FL., Ms. Solomon has refined her talent for creating memorable, fully-realized characters. She has developed strong, unique individuals (complete with fierce flaws and positive attributes alike) who are easily recognizable from each other when reading. The dialogue moves the story along nicely and I could not put it down until I finished. It held my interest with clever plot twists and revelations--there is only one place the foreshadowing may have been a bit too telling...but I'll leave that to the reader to discover. |
